The ASRWC presents the 2023 Summer 5k Sunday Series.

What a wonderful opportunity to get out on some of The Telegraph Station's trails. This is a great way to get a taste of the trails, enjoy some company, get a PB or have a great time running or walking.

Sunday 1 - 26th  Nov 6:30 am - Spencer Loop
Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes early for the race briefing and collect your bib if required!!

We thought we'd start this off with a quintessential classic trail. This one is fondly known as The Spencer loop to some.
You will start under the big river gum before the sand and finish there. You will cross the sand and head down the East Side Trail, take the official turn to the Stuart Trail, continue along this undulating trail and then take the left to Arrwe (towards 'The Rock Garden') and head back across the sand to the finish line. Sounds simple! This is an excellent trail for beginners to get a taste of everything and also still great for our more advanced runners to get some speed up and enjoy this firm trail favourite.

The race starts and finishes by the big river gum near the river bed as pictured below and indicated on the map.

Sunday 2 - 3rd  Dec 6:30 am - Bradshaw
Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes early for the race briefing and collect your bib if required!!

Sunday 2 see's us start at Bradshaw; this is a fun, short, technical trail on which you might just be lucky enough to see some beautiful Kangaroos on. At the end of the trail, you will continue down the path to the right and then cross the sand to head towards the trail that links up to the East Side Trail. You will continue along this trail and have the pleasure of crossing the sand to finish under the big gum again. If it's not already, you'll have this one added to your trail rotation soon.

The race starts in the car park close to where the trail begins; this is shown on the map and pictured below. The race finishes by the big river gum near the river bed, as pictured below and indicated on the map.

Sunday 3 - 10th Dec  6:30 am - Arrwe
Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes early for the race briefing and collect your bib if required!!

To finish the series off, we had to add a twist! You will start off at The Big Gum again, heading towards Trig Hill, just as you may have guessed.. Your heading up Trig Hill and down the other way. This trail that links back to Arrwe is a very fun technical trail, and again you may have the pleasure of seeing some Kangaroos or the trail's namesake.. An Arrwe :) You'll head right back on Arrwe. Follow the trail all the way around as the map shows and back across the sand to the Big Gum for a much-needed refreshment!

Volunteers:

SWEEPS - We will be needing sweeps for each event. A sweep follows the competitors, always keeping behind them. Sweeps ensure no one is left behind, pick up any rubbish that may have been dropped unnoticed and collects the trail markers. A sweep can hike behind participants or time their start so they can get some running in themselves. A sweep will be in contact with the race director. The great thing about being a sweep is that you can do the course for free! If this sounds like you, please go to the event registration page.

REGO/START LINE/FINISH LINE HELP - We would love some help to get everyone registered and checked in before the event starts. You can do this role and also participate in the event. If you can arrive an hour before the event, that would be perfect. If this sounds like you, please go to the event registration page.

Event Photographer - If you're a keen photographer, you're more than welcome to capture the action of this event. And we also love having better photos than our shakey phone captures :) Please go to the event registration page.
